The Way to Everlasting Life
God's Purpose
God created man to honor, serve, and fellowship with Him. Revelation 4:11 — "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
Man's Problem
Man chose to sin against God, rather than serve Him. Romans 3:23 — "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Man's Inability
When man chose to disobey God, the result was death. This includes physical death and spiritual death, which separates a person from God forever in Hell. Romans 6:23 — "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Many have tried to gain or work for eternal life, but every attempt has been a failure. Titus 3:5a — "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us"
Christ's Payment
Jesus Christ was sent to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. Romans 5:8 — "But God commendeth (showed) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us."
God's Promise
We must turn from our sin and trust Christ as our Lord and our Savior.Acts 3:19a — "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out."
If you turn from your sin and trust Christ to save you, God has promised you will have eternal life. John 5:24 — "He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life."
